Latinos Are Watching 2016 Candidates’ Stances On Immigration, Says Organizer

As candidates announce their campaigns for president, immigration reform continues to be a hot-button issue. Particularly as the Latino population grows, the immigration debate could have broader implications. In 2014, Hispanic voters made up about 25 million voters, or 11 percent, of the eligible electorate, and that number is expected to grow in the 2016 election.

Cristina Jiménez — co-founder of United We Dream, the largest youth-led immigrant organization in the nation — said Monday that the immigrant community will continue to look at candidates' views on immigration as the 2016 presidential election nears.
