Democrat Martin O’Malley — who has tried to distinguish himself as a Hispanic-friendly presidential candidate — has hired Jose Aristimuño to be in charge of his Latino media outreach.
Aristimuño, who began with the campaign as a volunteer, has been hired in a full-time capacity to work as the director of Hispanic media, the campaign confirmed Tuesday.
“This is a campaign that’s focused on reaching all of the constituents in a non-constituency-like fashion,” said Gabriela Domenzain, director of public engagement and a senior adviser. The news was first reported by BuzzFeed.
