El Senado de Estados Unidos dio este jueves el visto bueno final del Congreso a la propuesta del gobierno de Barack Obama para armar y entrenar a la oposición moderada siria. Tras más de cinco horas de debate, la cámara alta sancionó la iniciativa por 78 votos a favor y sólo 22 en contra. La Cámara de Representantes ya había dado luz verde al proyecto la víspera, así que ya sólo queda la firma del presidente para que éste pueda comenzar.
